The National Police have arrested a 37-year-old man with a criminal record as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of robbery with violence and threats against a taxi driver in Arrecife, as reported by the Superior Headquarters of the Police of the Canary Islands.
The events took place when the now arrested man, upon entering the taxi, ignored the indications to wear a mask in the vehicle.
Likewise, and in a state of nervousness, the man took out a knife and put it to the driver's neck, threatening to kill him and demanding money, even telling him that he was a hitman and had just left prison.
However, the taxi driver, after managing to stop, quickly got out of the car and asked for help, a situation in which the aggressor fled.
For their part, the police, once at the scene, interviewed the victim and several witnesses. Thus, with the characteristics provided, the agents carried out a search of the surroundings, locating the alleged perpetrator of the events who was immediately arrested for the crimes of robbery with violence and threats. He was no longer carrying the knife with which he had threatened the taxi driver.
Finally, once the corresponding police report was prepared, the detainee was placed at the disposal of the competent Judicial Authority.
