Civil Guard officers from the Main Post of San Bartolomé arrested on March 21 a 31-year-old young man, initials G.S.G, resident of Arrecife, and with numerous police records against property, as the alleged perpetrator of four robberies with force inside several rental vehicles in different tourist areas of the island.
The Civil Guard learned on the morning of March 21 that several robberies had occurred inside vehicles in different areas of Lanzarote, the first of them in the parking lots of the Farmer's Monument, from where they took a backpack from inside a car after fracturing one of the windows with a stone.

That same day, in the parking lots of the Volcanes de Tinajo area, they also fractured the windows of two rental cars that were parked there with a stone, allegedly stealing G.S.G. different objects that were in sight inside the vehicles.
Citizen collaboration
After the aforementioned robberies, the agents of the Investigation Area of the Civil Guard of San Bartolomé established a device in the area in order to clarify the crimes and find the alleged perpetrator.
Thanks to citizen collaboration, the Civil Guard obtained data of a car that could be involved with the robberies described, so after carrying out the corresponding investigations, said vehicle was located in one of the streets of Arrecife, finding inside several objects reported as stolen. From the identification of its owner and the physical description of the same provided by the citizens, the agents located him and shortly after that in one of the nearby streets.
Parallel to the arrest in Arrecife by the Investigation Area of the perpetrator of the events, a patrol of the Civil Guard of San Bartolomé located more effects -which had been reported as stolen- in the area of the volcanoes, including the documentation of two injured people, both tourists. The detainee has been placed at the disposal of the corresponding Duty Court of Arrecife.
