Arrested for allegedly spraying his ex-partner's and son's house with gasoline

The Local Police of Arrecife arrested this morning a man who allegedly sprayed gasoline on the garage and the entrance of his ex-partner's house and caused a fire. In the house were the woman and the son of both, a three-year-old boy who had to be evacuated to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital because he had inhaled smoke.

The fire took place in Campoamor Street, in the capital of Lanzarote, at about 5.30 am. Thanks to the actions of the neighbors who helped the mother and the child to leave the house through the patios of the building, a greater tragedy could be avoided.

The Councilor for Local Police of Arrecife, Jacobo Lemes, also wanted to congratulate the firefighters for their "quick action." The man was arrested an hour after the fire by USCI agents.
