Officers of the Local Police of Tías have arrested M.M.A., a native of Melilla, 34 years of age, as the alleged perpetrator of a crime of robbery with violence against persons.

A police statement explains that the events occurred last Monday, August 29, when a unit of the Local Police of Tías was alerted in the afternoon that a robbery with violence against persons had occurred in a street in Puerto del Carmen, the perpetrator of the events having been chased by a person who witnessed the robbery.

Upon arriving at the scene, the Local Police unit, the offender had already escaped, but the agents obtained the description of the offender thanks to the collaboration of the aforementioned witness.

Later, that same Monday at about 10 pm the same agents were required in a supermarket near the street where the previous events occurred. The employees of the establishment had detained an individual who had just stolen several objects from the premises. Upon arriving at the scene, the officers of the Local Police of Tías verified that the physical characteristics describing the perpetrator of the robbery with force matched those of the subject detained in the supermarket.

Subsequently, and after several steps, the individual was identified by the witness of the robbery, so the local agents proceeded to his arrest and, after the instruction of the appropriate police proceedings, he was placed at judicial disposal.
