The Firefighting Unit of Civil Protection of Yaiza and Firefighters of the Consortium, with the support of the Local Police of Yaiza and the Civil Guard, extinguished the fire declared on Saturday afternoon in a garage of Finca de Uga, municipality of Yaiza.
After receiving the 112 alert, Civil Protection personnel began extinguishing tasks at 4:00 p.m., joining two Fire Department units deployed from Arrecife. Between the work of extinguishing the fire and cooling the area, the service took just over three hours.
Machinery and farm tools burned at the scene, however, the extinguishing personnel prevented the fire from reaching solid flammable material and cold rooms that were near the flames. Authorities are investigating the causes of the fire.
