Firefighters had to go to Playa Blanca this Sunday night to extinguish a fire in a vehicle. The Coordinating Center for Security and Emergencies was the one who gave the warning shortly before 9:00 p.m. that there was a car on fire in the industrial area of the southern town.
When the Consortium firefighters arrived in the area, the flames had practically devoured this van, which belongs to a company in the area. The Yaiza Local Police had gone to the place and also several members of Civil Protection. The firefighters then took care of completely extinguishing the fire.
As explained by the Consortium, the wind direction when the fire broke out prevented the flames from damaging the industrial building that was right next to the burning van. Thus, there was no more damage than the vehicle itself, which was completely burned. It is unknown if it is an intentional fire.
