Local Police agents from Yaiza and Civil Protection personnel participated this Thursday night in the resuscitation of a 31-year-old man, a resident of the town of El Golfo, who died as a victim of a traffic accident.

According to sources from the southern Town Hall, the municipal services of Yaiza were activated at approximately one o'clock in the morning this Friday, November 18, when a traffic accident was registered on the LZ 2 road that connects the tourist and fishing town of Playa Blanca with Yaiza.

The vehicle, a Seat Córdoba, was traveling in the Playa Blanca-Yaiza direction and at approximately 01:06 it left the road for reasons that are still being investigated by the agents of Yaiza.

The driver, a 31-year-old Spanish citizen and resident of Yaiza, was thrown from the vehicle as a result of the impact. Unfortunately, he died at the scene.

Personnel from the Local Police of Yaiza and members of the Civil Protection Corps were transferred to the scene. Despite attempts at resuscitation, the young man - a cook by profession - died as a result of the accident.

In addition to the Local Police of Yaiza and Civil Protection, the Lanzarote Red Cross, the Civil Guard and an ambulance from 112 also participated in this service.

The duty judge and the forensic doctor went to the scene of the accident in the early morning to proceed with the removal of the body.
