A couple suffered a violent assault in their home in Playa Blanca this Wednesday. The thieves used force against the owners of the house, in their 60s and 70s, who had to be admitted to the Molina Orosa Hospital.
According to sources close to the investigation, the domestic worker is the one who found them injured and tied up when she arrived at the house first thing in the morning. After reporting what happened, the health services attended to the couple and the Civil Guard began an investigation.
The territorial team of the Judicial Police of Tías is the one that has taken charge of the investigations, although for the moment they have not been able to provide information, since they indicate that it is a "sensitive investigation". The only thing they have indicated is that it could be that the perpetrators belong to an organized gang, specialized in this type of violent robbery.
Meanwhile, the couple remained admitted on Wednesday afternoon and, according to sources close to the family, their transfer to the Doctor Negrín Hospital has even been considered, given the seriousness of the injuries.
The couple owns a supermarket on Limones Street in Playa Blanca and she, Ita Santana, belongs to a well-known family in the municipality, dedicated to hospitality. It so happens that her brother, Benjamín Santana, was murdered in his home in Playa Blanca seven years ago.
