A hiker was rescued after suffering an accident in Montaña Roja in Yaiza

The affected man had a fracture in his ankle. He was transferred to the José Molina Orosa Hospital

Firefighters rescued a German hiker this Thursday afternoon with a fracture of his right ankle after suffering a fall in Montaña Roja, in the municipality of Yaiza.

After being alerted by the CECOES, agents from the Lanzarote Emergency Consortium, Civil Protection and Health Services moved to the site.

Once at the scene and after verifying that he had a fracture in his ankle, the paramedics proceeded to assist him. Once the ankle was immobilized, they proceeded to transfer the man on a stretcher to the ambulance, which was 350 meters away.

Next, the man was stabilized and, later, he was transferred by ambulance to the José Molina Orosa Hospital.
