A 47-year-old woman of foreign origin was transferred this Thursday to the Doctor José Molina Orosa Hospital, after an accident against another vehicle near the Guacimeta airport. The woman could not open the car door and help had to be requested from the firefighters of the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium. The affected person has only suffered mild cervicalgia.

The accident involving two vehicles took place at 8:00 a.m., in front of the Lanzarote airport offices. The 112 sent an ambulance and gave the notice to the firefighters.

One of the firefighters managed to get inside the vehicle to reassure the injured woman with the aim of preventing her from getting hurt, as she was nervous due to the accident, as sources from the Security and Emergency Consortium have pointed out to La Voz. Immediately afterwards, a collar was placed on the affected woman, the vehicle was braced and the two side doors were opened with the help of a separator.

The firefighters explained to the injured woman how they were going to extract her from the vehicle, but the affected woman told them that she could not "lean back" due to an operation. In addition, she assured that she could leave the vehicle and move "without feeling pain". Finally, once the doors were already open, the woman managed to get out on her own, although two firefighters helped her to reach the ambulance stretcher.

An ambulance from the Canary Emergency Service (SUC) transferred this foreign woman to the Doctor Molina Orosa Hospital, where she was admitted with mild cervicalgia.
