The Civil Guard arrested a 24-year-old man, with initials F.J.L.L. and of Spanish nationality, on September 1 as the alleged perpetrator of five crimes of robbery with force, specifically in homes in Playa Blanca. The arrested took advantage of part of the stolen goods to furnish the house he was illegally occupying in Yaiza and sold the rest to businesses that buy and sell second-hand items, according to the Benemérita.

The investigation began last May as a result of the first complaints filed for these crimes. The Civil Guard collected several important clues, both from the statements of several witnesses and victims of the events and from inspections in various businesses or shops dedicated to the purchase and sale of goods or used objects, which are required by Organic Law 4/2015, on the Protection of Citizen Security to keep a documentary and information record.

In this way, the agents verified that several of the objects reported as stolen had been sold in these stores in Arrecife, being recognized by the legitimate owners.

Based on these facts, the agents were able to identify the alleged perpetrator of the events and find out where he lived. However, as he was not located and the Civil Guard knew that he had numerous presumably stolen objects in his home - a house in Yaiza that he occupies illegally - an entry and search warrant was requested from the Arrecife Duty Court.

Once the warrant was granted, the property was entered and searched, where numerous effects (sofas, interior furniture, terrace furniture, ping-pong table, refrigerator, television, tools, etc.) were seized with a value of more than 10,000 euros.

After the intervention of the effects, several injured parties were contacted who recognized them as their property, proceeding again on September 1 to the arrest of the alleged perpetrator for another three crimes of robbery with force in a home, returning the recovered objects to their legitimate owners.

The detainee has been placed at the disposal of the corresponding Court in guard functions of Arrecife.
