To the shipowners and merchants, indispensable in the growth of the Canary Islands Archipelago. To the fishermen, skippers and sailors, who used them to support a people. To the yachtsmen and those who have sailed for pleasure, for not turning their backs on the sea. To all the men and women who have forged our maritime heritage.

This book with a luxury presentation has been published with the purpose of distributing it in schools, libraries, universities, fishermen's associations and cooperatives, a way to avoid losing a legacy of incalculable value. The book is distributed in several fascicles in which are collected: Historical background, The splendor of naval construction in the Canary Islands and its relation with the trade with America during the XIX century.
