The wine event 'Malvasia, Lanzarote Wine Week' will kick off on Monday, November 7. For the eighth consecutive year, the Regulatory Council of the Designation of Origin Wines of Lanzarote has prepared a series of activities for all audiences "with the aim of paying tribute to this sector that is so important on the island", as they explain.
After the opening of this new edition, the first activity will be held on November 8, with the eno-artistic workshop by Rufina Santana at the Lanzarote Art Center in San Bartolomé. The Lanzarote artist will offer a new masterclass in which she will give the keys to making "true works of art with Tinto Listán Negro".
On Thursday, November 10, one of the rooms at Bodegas El Grifo will be filled with inspiration thanks to 'Once upon a time there was a vine... now it's your turn', a creative writing workshop given by the Lanzarote writer Lana Corujo. Following the line of previous editions of "Once upon a time there was a vine", this time, instead of listening to illustrated stories, attendees will have the opportunity to create them for themselves.
Entering the weekend's program, on Saturday, November 12, a trail will be developed around Finca Testeina by Senderismo Lanzarote. At the end, attendees will be able to enjoy some of the references from Bodegas Vega de Yuco, accompanied by a parranda and an enyesque.
Coinciding with the European Day of Wine Tourism, on November 13, a bicycle route will be held around the wine landscape of Lanzarote, where Bodega La Geria will be the starting point. During this route, attendees "will only have to bring their desire to pedal" since the company Papagayo Bike will provide all the material to carry out the tour. At the end, participants will be able to enjoy a guided tour of Bodega La Geria and taste its wines.
In addition, throughout the week there will be a raffle on the Facebook and Instagram profiles of "Vinos de Lanzarote". This year, its organizers explain that "the prizes will be a sweatshirt, a t-shirt and a cloth bag designed by the local artist Néstor Curbelo, through his brand HUGU".
The detailed information of each of the scheduled activities is published on the website www.semanamalvasia.com. Tickets can be purchased through the forms found on the social networks 'Vinos de Lanzarote'. From the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Vinos de Lanzarote want to invite the island public to participate in the great week of wine and thank the collaboration of the Cabildo de Lanzarote and the Cajamar Foundation.
