The Guardilama socio-cultural center is a place where, with much animation and participation, the residents of the town of Mácher continue to come to enjoy the events programmed by the festival committee of the municipality. That is why the center hosted the inauguration of the exhibition "Mácher Homage to its Ancestors" at 8:30 p.m. this Tuesday.
Moments before the photos were revealed, an informative press conference was held, which was headed by the neighbor Juana Saavedra, curator of the exhibition. She, with great confidence, informed all those present about how the contact had been made with some families who collaborated by providing photos of their relatives until achieving a total of 77 photos in this first edition.
Juan Parrilla, a resident of Mácher and a man committed to culture and traditions, was in charge of scanning each of the photos and preparing a magnificent audiovisual with them. This was projected at the event and, therefore, the public present was able to see the photos of their relatives and neighbors of the town on a large scale, which were authentic works of art.
Another of the participants in the colloquium was the neighbor of the town of Tías and president of the Tías por la Identidad forum, Julián Rodríguez, who made a brief but interesting account of the toponymy that surrounds the town of Mácher, such as the fences, walls, ravines or the roads, places of passage for livestock; as well as the names of the neighborhoods, a very common form of location by the residents of the time, such as Mácher de Arriba, Mácher de Abajo, El Barranco and El Volcán.
The event closed with a toast with artisan baked bread
Juan Cruz, a neighbor belonging to the Tías por la Identidad forum, also participated in this informative table, a man very committed to everything that has to do with the history of his town and always willing to collaborate by putting all the information collected at the service of the neighbors so that the new generations can know what the standard of living of their ancestors was like.
Once the informative press conference was over, the public was able to enjoy a few musical minutes with the "Cuarteto Bolero", who with great professionalism made an exhaustive tour of the classic boleros that the famous trio Los Panchos sang in their day. Immediately afterwards, the 77 photos hanging on the walls of the social hall were revealed and, as is customary among the residents of the town of Mácher, an event cannot end without a toast based on artisan baked bread as well as mimos, mantecados, pestiños and their liqueurs, also homemade.
