The City Council of Teguise presented this Monday, December 2, in the emblematic Spínola Palace, the Teguise Christmas Market 2024, an event that combines tradition, crafts and gastronomy in a festive atmosphere, and that will be held in two locations. This edition will be held in La Villa, from December 5 to 8, and in Costa Teguise, from December 12 to 15 of this month.
The mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, highlighted that, "from the Municipal Council we want to wish local businesses a good level of sales in these two weekends." In addition, the first mayor stressed that "this market is a sample of the talent and dedication of our artisans and merchants, who represent the true value of this event."
"We fully trust them and with this type of event we seek to offer them a space where they can exhibit and share their work with residents and tourists," Olivia Duque emphasized.
For her part, the Councilor for Tourism Rita Hernández pointed out that "the tourist who comes to Lanzarote is not only looking for sun and beach, but also enjoys living unique experiences like ours. This year, Costa Teguise will celebrate its first Christmas market, offering new opportunities for both residents and visitors," she said.
For her part, the head of Commerce Nieves Martínez highlighted the effort of local merchants and highlighted the impact of the market. "This event is a unique opportunity for the commerce of Teguise, which has an essential role in the economy of the municipality. We want to give them a stage in which they can connect with both residents and tourists, showing the quality and uniqueness of their products," she explained.
In addition, Martínez affirmed the importance of the attractions that will accompany the market, highlighting that "this year, activities and attractions have been prepared for the whole family, such as a magical carousel, flying chairs and a Christmas train."
In this sense, the CEO of Turismo Lanzarote, Héctor Hernández, added that "events such as the Christmas Market are essential to diversify the tourist offer of the island. This market not only attracts visitors, but also enriches their experience, offering an authentic approach to our traditions and our local commerce."
With this event, Teguise reaffirms its commitment to local commerce, sustainability and tourism promotion, offering a space where tradition and modernity meet to celebrate the magic of Christmas.
Programming
This event offers a key platform for local commerce, functioning as a link between merchants and tourists. In addition to the offer of artisan and gastronomic products, the Costa Teguise market will have a varied program for all audiences.
Among these events are musical performances, including a tribute to Queen and Los Salvapantallas, shows aimed at the youngest children in the town, the visit of Santa Claus, the Efecto Pasillo concert, which will take place next Saturday, December 14.
This initiative has the support of several sponsors and collaborators such as the Tourism and Commerce areas of the Teguise City Council, Turismo Lanzarote, Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of Lanzarote and Felapyme, who have contributed to enrich the Christmas experience and strengthen the impact of the event on the local and tourist economy.
