The castings for the LZ Urban Contest, an urban singing competition, and LZ Urban Dance were held on June 6 and 7 at the El Salinero Theater in Arrecife, bringing together a large number of young local talents.

The LZ Urban Contest, focused on vocal expression within urban genres such as rap, trap, and hip-hop, featured the participation of 37 local artists, who surprised with their diversity and artistic quality. For its part, LZ Urban Dance exceeded all expectations, bringing together more than a hundred dancers distributed in the categories of crew and duos, who demonstrated great energy, creativity, and technical mastery on stage.

The Culture Councilor of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Jesús Machín, stressed "the importance of opening real spaces to the new forms of artistic expression that move our youth. Lanzarote and La Graciosa have talent and a youth that expresses itself strongly through urban music and dance, and deserves to be heard and supported."

For her part, the Youth Councilor, Aroa Revelo, highly valued the youth involvement. "We are seeing an active youth, eager to express themselves, create, and share. This type of platform not only makes that talent visible, but also reinforces self-esteem and the youth cultural fabric of our islands."

Both contests are now moving towards their grand finale, which will be held on June 20 at the Agramar fairgrounds. The finalists will compete for numerous cash prizes, aimed at promoting and recognizing emerging talent in the urban culture of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.

The organizers invite the entire community to enjoy this cultural event that promises a day full of music, dance, and urban art in a unique environment.
