The Lanzarote capital experienced this Saturday, February 14, one of the most anticipated days of the festive program with the celebration of the Day Carnival, organized by the Department of Festivals of the Arrecife City Council. From noon, the downtown streets became a hive of people and masked revelers who enjoyed three simultaneous parties on the Avenue in front of the City Hall, Plaza de Las Palmas, and Plaza del Almacén.
The festive atmosphere was guaranteed with a wide musical lineup in which groups and artists such as Swing del Norte, Tremendo Son, La Mekánica, Dani Valiente y su Orquesta, Banda Nueva, Ritmo Bakano, Tío Matt, Iván Cacú, Los Jarvac, Tabaiba, The Machine Boys, Kilombo Improvisado, Los Lola and Mambo Latino participated, along with DJs Javi Sánchez, Falo, Maxi and Nandy, who made the public dance throughout the day.
The little masks were once again the protagonists, especially with costumes inspired by characters from children's television of the 80s and 90s, an allegory of the Arrecife Carnival 2026, bringing color, nostalgia, and originality to an event that has already established itself as one of the central acts of the program.
Batucadas and comparsas also took to the streets from midday with a parade that started from Parque Islas Canarias and went through the city up to the City Hall, encouraging residents and visitors to join the celebration.
The party continued in the afternoon, starting at 6:00 PM, with the Youth Carnival at the Fairgrounds, which featured performances by Danny Ocean, Lewis Potter, Daniela Garsal, and Dj Diego, attracting a large young audience.
