The residents of the town of Soo celebrated the festival of San Juan Evangelista this Friday afternoon. At 5:00 p.m. the Eucharist began, presided over by Rafael Tejera, parish priest of Tiagua.
The neighbors made a stop in their activities and gathered to accompany San Juan Evangelista, popularly known as "San Juan de los Viejos". The parish priest Rafael Tejera in the homily related an important review of the life of the Apostle Evangelist. In this celebration and as tradition dictates in these Christmas holidays, the kissing of the Child Jesus took place.
Once the Eucharist was over, the public was able to enjoy the concert offered by the Parranda Janubio, directed by Professor Clotildo Martín, complying with the 'Navidad Isleña' program. On this occasion, they performed a varied repertoire where they intertwined Christmas carols typical of these holidays such as Lo Divino, Pastores a Belén, Dos trocitos de Madera - Christmas carol from Paraguay, Cholito Jesús - Christmas carol from Peru, Una sobre el mismo Mar by Benito Cabrera and En Navidad by Rosana, seguidillas and folías were also present.
The public rewarded them with applause. The festive day ended with the tasting of chocolate and sweet potato trout from San Bartolomé.
