Sonidos Líquidos returns this fall with a series of concerts on different Canary Islands. The Lanzarote music festival, which had to postpone its previous event due to the health situation, presented its new proposal of events this Thursday at La Recova in Arrecife.
The press conference was attended by the managing director of Tourism of the Canary Islands, José Juan Lorenzo; the Councilor for Culture of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Alberto Aguiar; the Councilor for Tourism of the Arrecife City Council, Armando Santana; the Councilor of the San Bartolomé City Council, Raúl de León; the secretary of the Regulatory Council of the D.O. Wines of Lanzarote, Nereida Pérez; and the director of Sonidos Líquidos, Neftalí Acosta.
As they explained, "the group that is causing a sensation this 2021, Arde Bogotá, will be the protagonist twice in Sonidos Líquidos", with performances in Gran Canaria and Tenerife. First, on October 23 at 7:00 p.m. in The Paper Club (Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), where they will have the Lanzarote group Abisal as the opening act. The next day, October 24, the festival will jump to Tenerife, where at 7:00 p.m. in the Aguere hall (La Laguna), Arde Bogotá will perform again, preceded by another group from Lanzarote, Yanotequiero.
The former vocalist of Amparanoia, Amparo Sánchez, will arrive in Lanzarote with Sonidos Líquidos to present her tour “Hermana y Cantaora”. The concert will take place on November 7 at 12:00 noon at Casa Ajei, in San Bartolomé. This will take place coinciding with the European Day of Wine Tourism and within 'Malvasía, Lanzarote Wine Week', in which the Regulatory Council pays tribute to the sector on the island.
In addition, for the first time, Sonidos Líquidos will arrive in Fuerteventura on Saturday, November 13. The event will be held at Oasis Wildlife, although it has not yet been confirmed which artist will star in this event.
Tickets for the Arde Bogotá concerts in Gran Canaria and Tenerife can now be purchased through the Sonidos Líquidos official website, while tickets for the Amparo Sánchez live show will go on sale soon. "The festival will also adapt to changes in regulations regarding capacity, so it will communicate any news on its Facebook, Instagram and Twitter profiles," explain from the organization.
The start of this series of concerts was scheduled for this Saturday, September 16, at La Recova in Arrecife and with the group Ginebras as the protagonist. However, due to health reasons of one of the members of the band, it has had to be postponed. From Sonidos Líquidos they are already working to find a new date in which the public can enjoy the live performance of Ginebras.
"One of the highest ratings in festivals of this format in all of the Canary Islands"
"From Tourism of the Canary Islands we support more than 250 cultural activities in the Archipelago this year, because our objective is to make this type of event more accessible to tourists and the local population. On the other hand, we want to take this opportunity to congratulate Sonidos Líquidos, which has obtained one of the highest ratings in festivals of this format in all of the Canary Islands,” said the managing director of Turismo Islas Canarias, José Juan Lorenzo, during the press conference.
The Councilor for Culture of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Alberto Aguiar, wanted to express his “satisfaction that Sonidos Líquidos is held again for another year, complying with all security measures”. "From the Cabildo of Lanzarote we firmly support this type of cultural event, knowing the great effort made by the festival organization to carry it out and transfer this project born in Lanzarote outside our island,” he added.

The Councilor for Tourism of the Arrecife City Council, Armando Santana, has shown his “enthusiasm for the fact that this new series of Sonidos Líquidos concerts starts at La Recova in Arrecife", pointing out that "without a doubt, this type of cultural event represents an added value for the promotion of our city both in the tourist and gastronomic fields; being in line with the actions we develop from the Arrecife Gastronómica initiative”.
For her part, the secretary of the Regulatory Council of the Designation of Origin Wines of Lanzarote, Nereida Pérez, highlighted “the strong commitment of the Regulatory Council to Sonidos Líquidos; a festival that plays a very important role in the promotion of our wines and the wine-growing landscape of Lanzarote inside and outside our island". In addition, she stressed that "again, this year puts the finishing touch to our `Malvasía, Lanzarote Wine Week', coinciding one of its concerts with the European Day of Wine Tourism”.
Finally, the director of Sonidos Líquidos, Neftalí Acosta, expressed his satisfaction at recovering this event. "We are very happy to be able to close 2021 as we like, with the best music and wines from Lanzarote. We have worked hard to make this possible and, although carrying out a festival with the current situation is really complicated, from Sonidos Líquidos we continue to firmly bet on culture. We also want to thank the enormous support that institutions are giving us, sponsoring these events, and the private companies that collaborate in the development of the festival,” he stressed.
Sonidos Líquidos, organized jointly by Arenao and the Cabildo de Lanzarote, is sponsored by Turismo de Islas Canarias, ICDC (Canary Institute of Cultural Development), Turismo Arrecife, Ayuntamiento de San Bartolomé, Oasis Wildlife and the Regulatory Council of the D.O.
