Santi Alverú, the comedian known for being one of the collaborators of the program Zapeando, has visited the island on the occasion of the celebration of the Lanzarote Film Festival.
Being a jury member of the festival has been a "very enriching" experience, the humorist confesses. "It has been a ten even before setting foot on the island," he comments.
Although he has already "been a jury member in more festivals", "when they sent me the selection I was very surprised", he says.
"I got a very fun category," he acknowledges. I've seen some short films "that" drink from many countries" and "are unlike anything I've seen before," he comments.
With this opportunity, "I feel two things: "responsibility and that it imposes on me a little," he adds. "Behind these short films there is a lot of hope and illusion," therefore, "you don't want a bad day to interfere in being able to give an assessment."
In addition, he acknowledges that "I am a film critic in "CineMania" and I think that I can add criteria and professionalism to that assessment."
He considers that Lanzarote is "the perfect setting for the festival," since "it is the ideal combination of activities and screenings to attend along with a comfortable island to see in a few days."
"My idea is to visit Timanfaya, Volcanoes Park, Cactus Garden, the house of César Manrique..."
He confirms that "it is his first time on the island" and "he wants to see it" and he is going to do it as a tourist: "my idea is to visit Timanfaya, the Volcanoes Park, the Cactus Garden, the house of César Manrique, among other things."
He also says that since "the five years that I have worked professionally as a humorist", "I have never had to come to the Canary Islands", he laments. "I hope I get to soon," he says with desire.
During his professional career he has worked as a journalist, actor, humorist, television collaborator, etc. but he is clear that: "what I like to do the most is writing, it calms me and relaxes me." Although he confesses that "I couldn't stay with any because I think they all complete things I'm looking for."
For his future projects, "I have in hand to premiere a series that makes me very excited and with which I am excited." In addition, "Zapeando is my home and I'm still there," I have to "finish the season of the podcast "Y de beber albóndigas"" and also, "a couple of programs that are about to come out," he anticipates.
