The Lanzarote author and actor Salvador Leal will stage in Lanzarote 'Pending Premiere', a work with which he wanted to pay a personal tribute to the deceased Jesús M. Rodríguez Santana, "a popular actor and comedian known simply as Santana".

'Pending Premiere' is a work written and starring Salvador Leal, produced by Trama 2 Producciones. It is co-starred by Germán Barrios and directed by Valery Tellechea and can be seen this Friday, March 13, at 8:30 p.m., at the Víctor Fernández Gopar Theater "El Salinero".

The play tells the story of the acting duo Vladi and Ragón, which breaks up unexpectedly. Some time later, under strange circumstances, they meet again in the theater where they did their last performance together and which is now about to be demolished. They intend to stage what they left unfinished, their show Boberías Namás.

Salvador Leal himself expresses the reasons that have led him to stage 'Pending Premiere'. "With Santana I began to write a show that we would call Boberías Namás. We had been wanting to do a duo show for many years, but for one thing or another, it was always pending. Now, finally, the moment had arrived, everything was in our favor, and we set about it. On a Monday in March 2019, I woke up to the news that my friend, Santana, had left or, it would be fairer to say, that a heart attack had taken him," says the author in the play's dossier.

For her part, the director, Valery Tellechea, points out that it is "a work that is born from love and death, universal ingredients in the history of theater as is friendship. It is born from the need to give voice to the concerns of someone who is no longer there and someone who remains." "It is a personal, intimate, honest work tinged with humor and love in the most subtle details, but it is also a universal work that portrays a system where not everyone fits, a society that has not learned everything it should and a new era where aesthetics prevail over ethics," she asserts.
