Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero is once again organizing its Short Story Contest this summer, which this year reaches its seventh edition. On this occasion, the station wanted to join the tribute that the Canary community is paying this year to the writer Rafael Arozarena, so the proposal is to build a story that is a continuation of the final words of the novel "Mararía", which say the following:
"In the sky, some birds flew frightened and croaked furiously; some large birds that became entangled between the horns of the sun; some black birds..."
As in previous editions, the radio must be part of the story and the maximum length of the stories must be 100 words, including the title if it has one. Each author may send up to a maximum of five stories, which may be signed with a pseudonym, although they must always indicate a name and contact telephone number.
The deadline to participate in the Radio Lanzarote literary contest begins on July 4 and will last until August 31, both included. The stories will be published in order of receipt in La Voz de Lanzarote and will be read in the space "Reading on the Radio". It should be remembered that both publication and reading will be subject to the availability of space and time of both media.
The decision of the contest will be made by a jury made up of journalists from Radio Lanzarote-Onda Cero and La Voz de Lanzarote, who will choose three winning stories and seven finalists. This decision will be made public in the second half of September. In addition, in the coming weeks Radio Lanzarote and La Voz de Lanzarote will reveal the prizes that will be awarded to the winners. All those who wish to participate can send their stories to [email protected].
