The Tías City Council, through the Department of Festivities managed by Miriam Hernández, has organized the celebration of the 1st Traditional Piñata Carnival for this Friday, in which Los Buches, traditional masks, and sheets or vestiges of the old carnival will participate. Tonight the Puerto Rican singer Joseph Fonseca will also perform, known for hits such as Noches de Fantasía, Que levante la mano and El caballito de palo.
The traditional parade of Los Buches, which has the collaboration of the Parranda Marinera Los Buches, the elders of the municipality, the Association for Women Mararía and the Cabildo of Lanzarote, will depart at 5:30 p.m. from Playa Chica in the direction of Plaza del Varadero, where different piñata games will be offered to families and lovers of the cultural expressions of Lanzarote.
The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, invites all residents and tourists to enjoy this day and emphasizes the council's commitment "to making visible the cultural identity of our town and offering residents and visitors a celebration that does not forget the most recent history of the island and that unites fun and tradition."
The Councilor for Festivities, Miriam Hernández, indicated that "this Traditional Piñata Carnival is an opportunity for new generations to learn about and enjoy our roots. It is an event that fuses the festive spirit with the cultural richness of Lanzarote."
Musical, gala and dj
The Carnival of Puerto del Carmen experienced a world of fantasy this Thursday with the children's musical inspired by Alice in Wonderland held in the Plaza del Varadero, which also hosted the Grand Gala with performances by the Chimbay batucada and the Los Guaracheros and Sur Caliente troupes, a day that ended with the performance of DJ Renzzo El Selector.
On Saturday, starting at 5:00 p.m., the great carnival parade will take place along Avenida de Las Playas in Puerto del Carmen, from Barcarola to Fariones Playa. The party will continue at 9:00 p.m. in Plaza del Varadero with a festival enlivened by the Mambo Latino, La Mekánica by Tamarindos and Maquinaria Band orchestras.
