The director from Zaragoza, Pilar Palomero, one of the guests to participate as a jury in the Lanzarote Film Festival. The filmmaker recognizes that it is "an honor" to participate in the festival and that "they have counted on me to be a jury." In addition, she is delighted to "visit Lanzarote on the weekend," she confesses.
"My plan is to see the island," since "it's my first time there," she anticipates. And also "as a jury." A film event from which she hopes to "find risky and brave proposals" that "help raise awareness," she points out.
A screenwriter who won a Golden Biznaga and four Goya Awards for "Las Niñas", her feature film that has given her the most joy and with which she has drawn a clear conclusion: "the greatest thing about the awards is the reach they allow you to have."
Taking risks has been her main motto throughout her career. A woman who left her permanent position as a professor of writing and directing scripts and audiovisuals to study a master's degree in Film Directing in Sarajevo.
A decision that "gave me vertigo", she says. She remembers it as "a moment of uncertainty and excitement." But with a clear objective: "wanting to train and wanting to tell stories," she confirms.
Although she makes it clear that "we all have to take risks" to dedicate ourselves to this. "I don't think it has been more than the rest of my filmmaker colleagues," she points out. Without a doubt, "I would do it again if I went back," she says emphatically.
She takes stock of her career and comes to the conclusion that "the important thing is to work hard" and "be aware of it."

Currently, she is dedicated to a new project, which she confirms will be an "adaptation and story" of the novel "A Heart Too Big", by the Basque author Eider Rodríguez. Although "I can't reveal anything else," she commented.
Her third feature film will be called "The Glimmers", and in it she will show "the beauty in something as hard as grief," she confessed in a recent interview on La Ser.
