The Tías Town Hall informs of the temporary change of bus and taxi stops and the reinforcements of services during the Carnival of Puerto del Carmen. Taxis can be requested from other municipalities in the early hours of Saturday and Sunday, on Saturday the bus line 02 will be reinforced with Arrecife and on Sunday there will be a special service of the Tías interior line 34.
The Tías control center may request taxis from other municipalities when there are no taxis available in the area. This joint service can be carried out in the Varadero area on Saturday and Sunday, February 17 and 18, from 01:00 to 06:00 hours.
Regarding the bus service, the line 02 that connects Arrecife with Puerto del Carmen will be reinforced on Saturday, February 17, from 17:00 to 06:00 hours on Sunday. The line 34 from the interior of Tías will have a special service at 04:30 hours on Sunday departing from the Las Vistas stop.
It must be taken into account that, in view of the celebration of the Carnival parade, closures and detours will be carried out on some streets of Puerto del Carmen on Saturday. As a result of the closures, the affected bus and taxi stops will undergo modifications.
From 15:00 hours to 22:00 hours on Saturday, February 17, the taxi stops at the San Antonio hotel, Barcarola, Casino, Atlántico Shopping Center, Arena Dorada Shopping Center, Caletón and Soco Shopping Center will be canceled. As a result of this, provisional stops will be set up in the following places: Noruega, Pedro Barba, César Manrique and Guanapay streets.
In relation to the bus stops, the stops at the San Antonio hotel, Casino, Atlántico Shopping Center, Caletón Blanco will be canceled. As a result of this, a provisional stop will be set up on Noruega street.
From 17:30 hours to 23:00 hours on Saturday, February 17, the taxi stop at the Fariones hotel will be canceled and the bus stops at Costa Volcán, Biosfera Shopping Center, IES Puerto del Carmen Preferential Stop will be canceled. As a result of this, a provisional stop will be set up on Rambla Islas Canarias (Guardería roundabout area).
At the request of the town hall, the Cabildo of Lanzarote declared the municipality a Joint Taxi Service Area, "in anticipation of the excessive demand for taxi services that may arise due to the celebration of festivals".
