The two teams from CEO Argana will face each other next Monday, April 24, starting at 8:00 p.m., in the grand final of the program-contest "Knowing César", co-produced by Biosfera television and the César Manrique Foundation.

The quintets from CEO Argana prevailed in the semi-finals against IES Blas Cabrera Felipe and IES Yaiza after becoming champions of the respective groups in the previous league. In the final, CEO Argana "A" and CEO Argana "B" will have to overcome a total of three tests. The first, direct knowledge questions about the theme of the contest, that is, the life, work, thought and historical context of César Manrique. 

In the second part, they must present a short documentary of no more than three minutes in duration based, also on the universal artist. The short film will be evaluated by leading specialists: Miguel G. Morales, independent filmmaker; Ismael Curbelo, director of the Lanzarote International Film Festival; Ester Fernández, professor of Graphic Design at the Pancho Lasso School and Alfredo Díaz, from the Pedagogical Department of the César Manrique Foundation.

Finally, the teams must face a mathematical logic problem that will mix two eras: the invasions of piracy in Lanzarote and the public work of César Manrique.

The final will be attended by Fernando Gómez Aguilera, director of the César Manrique Foundation, Marcos Bergaz, vice president of the Cabildo, Alberto Aguiar, Minister of Culture - representing the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers - and Carlos Cabrera of CICAR, Cabrera Medina, among other guests.

Prizes never before awarded by a local television in Lanzarote await them in the final, the channel advances.  Thus, each member of the winning team will receive an Apple MacBook Pro laptop, while the center it represents will obtain 4,000 euros in technological material of their choice. The coordinating teacher of that team, a travel agency voucher for an amount of 3,000 euros.

As for the second classified, the prize for the participants consists of an iPad tablet, the center takes 2,500 euros in technological material and the teacher-coordinator 2,000 euros in a travel agency voucher. 

The contest is a production of the César Manrique Foundation (FCM) and Biosfera TV, with the sponsorship of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers and Cabrera Medina.
