The Canari festival celebrates its first edition this weekend, from November 17 to 19, in various locations distributed between the islands of Lanzarote and La Graciosa. The event offers a complete program that combines music with other experiences to discover the territory. The Divine Comedy, Maika Makovski, The Parrots, Melenas, and the local groups Ya No Te Quiero and Adora make up the musical proposal that reaches seven concerts spread over 3 days.
Organized by Arenao Producciones, producer of the Sonidos Líquidos festival, in collaboration with Festivales Para un Territorio, Canari is an invitation to experience the best of the culture of the islands through music, gastronomy and heritage.
The Canari Festival program begins on Friday the 17th in La Recova with the vibrant performances of Melenas and The Parrots. On Saturday, the energy moves to the Castillo de San José with an alignment that includes the local talent of Ya No Te Quiero, the dynamism of Maika Makovski, and the stellar performance of The Divine Comedy, led by Neil Hannon. The night will conclude with the duo Adora, made up of Romi Alter and Fran Sylver, who will take the reins with an electrifying DJ session.
A key component of the festival is the Cata Territorios, an event that has already sold all its tickets and will take place on Saturday the 18th at the Castillo de San José. Participants will taste exceptional wines from Lanzarote and from enologically rich regions such as Terres de Alforins, Ribeira Sacra and Rioja Alavesa. In addition, on Saturday at noon, an excursion will be offered to the Salinas de Janubio, where the secrets of the traditional production of sea salt will be revealed.
Guided tours of the heritage of both Arrecife and San Bartolomé are other highlights to complete the experience. These activities are available with separate tickets, and can be obtained on the festival website.
The highlight of the Canari Festival will be in La Graciosa, with an acoustic concert on board a boat on Sunday the 19th, starring Maika Makovski. This will be a memorable farewell to a weekend that promises to be enriching for all the senses.
To guarantee the safety and comfort of the attendees, a road closure with restricted traffic is announced on Saturday from 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. in the Castillo de San José area. In addition, buses will be offered from the interchange, with specific tickets and schedules available. Special transportation will also be provided to the Salinas de Janubio and for the La Graciosa experience, thus ensuring a worry-free experience for all attendees.
Arenao Producciones appreciates the sponsorship of Turismo Islas Canarias as well as the Arrecife City Council, and highlights the attendance of an audience from different places on the islands, as well as from the rest of the country, as well as from other nationalities.
