The Second Section of the Provincial Court of Las Palmas will judge on February 7 in Gran Canaria the accused of a crime of sexual assault with penetration in Puerto del Carmen.
The events date back to June 25, 2022, when O.A. was with friends in a well-known nightlife establishment, located in a shopping center on Avenida Las Playas in the tourist town of Tías.
According to the Prosecutor's Office's indictment, the accused, around 06:00 in the morning, allegedly went up with his friends and the victim to the second floor of the shopping center to another place.
At that moment, the accused would have asked to speak alone with the victim "in a quieter place." When they moved away from the group of friends, O.A. allegedly took the woman to the toilets, lowered her pants and underwear. In addition, according to the Public Prosecutor's Office, he allegedly penetrated her against her will and forced her to "perform fellatio."
O.A. has been in provisional prison since June 26, 2022. For her part, the victim has renounced the exercise of "civil and criminal actions" that may correspond to her.
The Public Prosecutor has requested eight years in prison, special disqualification for the exercise of the right to passive suffrage during the term of the sentence and the prohibition of approaching within 500 meters of her private home, her place of work and any other place she frequents for nine years and six months.
In addition, the Prosecutor's Office has requested to impose a measure of supervised release, after his release from prison, for ten years and his disqualification to exercise any profession, trade or activity, whether paid or not, that involves regular and direct contact with minors for 20 years. To all this, we must add the payment of costs.
