This Tuesday begins the strike of the passenger cabin crew of Vueling, called by the Stavla union, which demands a salary increase of 13.4% for this year. On that first day, the airline will operate 90% of its flight program for that day, which are the minimum services established by the Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda (MITMA).
Precisely, these "minimum services are 100% for Lanzarote", the Cabildo has confirmed to Ekonomus, since they connect with the Peninsula and are guaranteed. The Cabildo believes that the strike may "affect us with some delay, but not with cancellations." The strike is scheduled for every Friday, Sunday, Monday and holidays between this Tuesday and January 31, 2023.
With the aim of minimizing the impact of the strike, Vueling has activated a flexibility plan and informed affected customers via email, SMS and through the web about the situation and offering them flight alternatives, according to the hosteltur news portal.
Likewise, passengers can check the status of their flight on this website or access their reservation to obtain information about their new flight and/or manage the available alternatives.
Vueling states that, since April of this year, it has been negotiating the IV Collective Agreement for cabin crew, with weekly meetings and the will to reach agreements, while ensuring the continuity of the company in the long term.
They add that, precisely, as a result of these negotiations, this summer the company increased both the fixed and variable concepts of the cabin crew collective by 6.5%, effective from January 1, 2021, with the consequent payment of the corresponding arrears from that date.
