According to the evolution of reservations and the different surveys carried out in Germany, a recovery in demand is expected and a return to the behavior patterns shown before the pandemic. The Cabildo de Lanzarote will attend the ITB Berlin fair to attract a German tourist who was left out of the generalized recovery of 2022, as this market did not reach the levels reached in 2019.
The Cabildo de Lanzarote, through a delegation headed by the CEO of the Lanzarote Foreign Promotion Society (SPEL), Héctor Fernández, will attend the ITB Berlin tourism fair. The island representatives will participate this week in more than 25 meetings and work meetings, with the aim of promoting the German market.
The president and Tourism Councilor of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, stated “the importance of the island being represented again at an international tourism event, especially when it comes to a issuing country so important for our interests”.
Meetings with tour operators, airlines and airports
“It is essential to work on the diversification of the sector and the growth of markets such as the German one, which fit our intentions to bet on higher quality tourism and higher spending at the destination, to the detriment of mass tourism”, Corujo pointed out.
For his part, Héctor Fernández pointed out that, among the more than 25 meetings planned, they will hold meetings with the main tour operators, with German airlines, and even with airports in the country, which will help us improve connectivity and, therefore, the weight of this market in Lanzarote.
“Several of these meetings are also focused on sustainability, with the aim of reinforcing our position as a sustainable destination, and many others with Teutonic media”, Fernández indicated.
Likewise, the CEO highlighted the collaboration they maintain for another year with training in the hotel sector of the Island through the presence of the University School of Tourism of Lanzarote (EUTL) at the fair.
