The project "Intelligent Water Leak Management through Aerial Thermography for the Optimization of Water Resources in the Canary Islands", from the company Skynox Drones SL, has been the winner of the III Edition of the Sustainable Talent Awards delivered on the Islet of Fermina.

The initiative has stood out for its capacity to offer a technological and tangible solution to one of the most critical challenges of the islands: the efficiency in water use.

The competition, co-organized by the Líneas Romero Foundation and the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa with the collaboration of Bankinter, seeks to promote original projects that are not only economically viable, but also generate a positive impact on the environment and are aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The delivery of the award, endowed with 5,500 euros, was carried out by José Valle, president of the Chamber of Commerce, and Federico Romero, president of the Líneas Romero Foundation.

In this third call, the success of participation has been notable, with a total of 42 projects submitted coming from five of the eight Canary Islands, which demonstrates the consolidation of the award throughout the Archipelago.

During the event, Valle emphasized that “these awards are not just economic recognition, but a launch platform for ideas that take care of our future”.

For his part, Romero highlighted the "socially responsible factor" as the true added value that differentiates these awards in the entrepreneurial ecosystem.

The event featured a prominent institutional presence, including Migdalia Machín, counselor for Universities, Science, Innovation and Culture of the Government of the Canary Islands; Yonathan de León, mayor of Arrecife; and Álvaro Martínez, Director of Sustainable Business at Bankinter.

The winning project of Skynox Drones SL prevailed in a very high-level final shortlist, in which the initiatives Ágora (Switch Green Canary SL) and the water management through AI of AquiantIA also competed.

As part of its collaboration with the awards, Bankinter delivered to these three finalists a personalized package of financial services and benefits, specifically designed to boost the growth of their projects.

The six best-valued projects of this year, which also included the Martínez Abolafio Foundation, Elittoral and Integra e Innova Laboral, demonstrated that the business fabric of the islands is fully committed to the transition towards a more just and sustainable model.
