Several tourists have posted on social media like TikTok their complaints in the form of videos, some with certain touches of humor, about the wind and the cold that is characterizing this winter in Lanzarote.

In the video, which has accumulated more than 350,000 views, four people can be seen on the sun loungers of a hotel in Puerto Calero with warm clothes and, even, a blanket. In addition, they added the following in the caption of the recording: "Let's assume it's snowing in England, so I can't complain too much."

In one of the many comments responding to the video, one of the tourists who visited Lanzarote has criticized the weather on the island: "We went in June five years ago and it was cold... first and last time".

And the belief of sunny weather and high temperatures in the Canary Islands has spread among many tourists due to the false image that the islands' tourism industry has sold abroad. However, in the archipelago it also gets cold and between the months of November and March, temperatures can drop below ten degrees in many places.

In addition, the trade wind increases the sensation of cold, something that many tourists are unaware of when they come to spend a few days of sun and beach fleeing from the cold of central and northern Europe.

During recent months, Lanzarote has registered many days of very cold temperatures, very cloudy skies and abundant rains. Last March 3, the arrival of storm Regina left values of up to 9 degrees in Tías, according to data from the State Meteorological Agency.

During these last few days, winter is being felt with great intensity on the island. Minimum temperatures are falling below 12 degrees in most points of the island's orography, such as the 11.5 degrees this past dawn in Tías or the 12.7 in Haría, but the cold sensation reaches up to 8 degrees thanks to the trade winds that are lashing the Canary Islands these days.
