The hotels and apartments of Lanzarote were almost full last August, reaching 93.3% occupancy, 8.3% more than during the month of July. The revenue thanks to this level of occupancy exceeded 83 million euros.

These data place Lanzarote as the Canary Island with the highest occupancy in the archipelago, followed by Fuerteventura with 85.1% and Tenerife with 80.7%.

Lanzarote's occupancy figures, which are obviously much better than those recorded in August last year when occupancy was limited to 59.3% and revenue was half, also exceeded the records of August 2019, when the island's hotels and tourist apartments were occupied by 82.1% and revenue was 75 million.

It is interesting to note that although there were 16,000 fewer people staying in Lanzarote this August compared to the same period in 2019, the final revenue has been 8 million more. A key factor in this increase is that the average spending per tourist is increasing. In the second quarter of the year, the last one for which data is available, it reached 157 euros per person per day.
