The airline Iberia Express will reinforce its commitment to Lanzarote this summer by increasing its capacity on routes to the island by up to 42%, in an attempt to demonstrate its clear commitment to one of the most popular sun and beach destinations in the country.

Specifically, Lanzarote is the island that grows the most compared to 2019, and will have 18 round-trip flights per week in the months of July and August, only behind Tenerife and Gran Canaria with 48 trips per week and up to 7 daily flights in the strongest months, while Fuerteventura will have 15 per week and La Palma 10.

The Iberia Express summer program, which began this weekend and will run until the last weekend of October, will offer more than 1.7 million seats in the Canary archipelago, while the Balearic Islands will have 950,000 seats, which is 27% more than in the same period of 2019.

“There is latent demand and a great desire to travel, so we are optimistic about the expectations for this summer season that we will soon be launching. The Canary and Balearic Islands will continue to be a fundamental part of our operations, two regions with which we have strong ties and with which we continue to work hand in hand,” says Isabel Rodríguez, commercial director of Iberia Express.

In addition, in recent months the capacity on flights to and from the Peninsula has increased by up to 3%, with destinations such as Santiago de Compostela and Seville, with 21 weekly frequencies, and Málaga, increasing from 5 to 9 weekly flights between 2019 and 2022.

The airline also aims to increase frequencies between Madrid and some European holiday destinations, such as the Greek islands of Mikonos or Santorini, with up to 3 and 4 round-trip flights per week, as well as other seasonal places in Europe, such as Keflavik or Bari.

“We are very happy to be able to restart our routes with sun and beach destinations at a European level such as the Greek islands of Heraklion, Mikonos or Santorini, as well as other seasonal destinations in Europe, such as Keflavik in Iceland, or Bari in Italy, all of them destinations that our clients have always welcomed very well and we hope that this year they can also enjoy the best flight experience to travel to their favorite destinations,” adds the director.
