Since the deadline to apply for the youth rental voucher from the Canary Islands Housing Institute (ICAVI) opened a week ago, the Chambers of Commerce of the archipelago, which manage the voucher, have received more than 11,500 calls for information and have begun processing 2,500 files. The deadline will remain open until October 31, although duly completed applications will be processed in order of admission.
This line of aid is aimed at young people from the Canary Islands aged 18 to 35 and has an allocation of 21,200,000 euros. Young people who meet all the requirements will benefit from a subsidy on the rent receipt of 250 euros per month for two years, which will be applied retroactively from January 1. The payment of the aid will be made quarterly, once the rent payments have been justified.
The application period opened a week ago and will remain in effect until October 31. For more information and assistance in processing, the Lanzarote Chamber of Commerce has enabled a telephone service between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. More information can also be obtained on the ICAVI website.
The subsidy, convened by the Ministry of Transport of the Government, through the Canary Housing Council, is managed by the Chambers of Commerce of the islands. The procedure can be done electronically, through the Canary Islands Housing Institute (ICAVI) or in person at the Chambers of Commerce through appointment.
