The price of used housing in Lanzarote rose in March to 1,972 euros per square meter, 5.63% more than the same month last year and 0.61% more than in February 2022, according to the latest report of the Idealista real estate price index.
By municipalities, the price rises with respect to the previous month, with the exception of Tinajo and San Bartolomé, where the figures fall 1.4% and 0.4% respectively. Specifically, the municipality of Haría has been where housing has become more expensive, 3% if compared to February of this year.
The most expensive municipalities that exceed the barrier of two thousand euros per square meter are Tías, with a price of 2,526 euros, Yaiza (2,454), Teguise (2,082) and San Bartolomé (2,071 euros). It is followed by the municipality of Haría (1,737), Tinajo (1,615) and, finally, the most economical used housing on the island is located in Arrecife, at 1,321 euros per square meter in the capital.
In addition, the island has exceeded, in the second month of the year, the national average, established at 1,825 euros per square meter, as a result of the increase in prices in most of its municipalities, an increase that could be due to the increase in the cost of construction materials.
Canary Islands also exceeds the national average
In the province of Las Palmas, the price of housing falls by 0.3% compared to February, with a cost of 1,957 euros per square meter, while in Santa Cruz de Tenerife the figure rises to 1,973 euros, 0.9% more than the previous month.
If the data for the archipelago as a whole is taken into account, the Canary Islands is the fifth Autonomous Community with the highest price of used housing, at 1,967 euros per square meter, only behind the Balearic Islands (3,368 euros per square meter), Madrid (2,996), the Basque Country (2,685) and Catalonia (2,309).
In addition, the islands exceed the national average of 1,825 euros, and continue on the path of growth since the change in trend in July 2020, with an increase of 0.4% compared to the month of February and 5.9% compared to the last quarter of 2021, according to the monthly statistics of Tinsa "IMIE General y Grandes Mercados".
In the case of Spain, the average cost of housing for sale rises by 0.6% in March and 2.3% compared to the same month last year.
