The Ministry of Public Works, Housing and Mobility of the Government of the Canary Islands has already awarded the construction of a total of 134 officially protected homes in the Los Geranios area of Maneje in Arrecife for a value of 18,443,219.3 million euros. The area led by Pablo Rodríguez has advanced in this process initiated by the previous government through the Canary Housing Institute (ICAVI).
In this way, Hormiconsa Canarias SA is the successful bidder for a first batch of 67 homes for a value of 8,801,767.15 euros plus IGIC. Meanwhile, the rest of the homes will be built by VVO Construcciones P. SA for a value of 9,641,452.14 euros.
The 134 new homes will be built on land ceded to ICAVI by the City Council of the capital in 2020, destined for the construction of two housing developments divided into two attached buildings within the Los Geranios de Maneje urbanization. This project will cover the demand for officially protected homes for public promotion after more than 20 years without doing so.
The two buildings will have 10% of one-bedroom homes, 20% of two-bedroom homes, 60% of three-bedroom homes and 10% of four-bedroom homes. Likewise, the project contemplates building six homes for people with reduced mobility, three supervised homes with five bedrooms. In addition, all will have a parking space and storage room.
This new housing development is part of the objectives of the Housing Plan construction program to offer a solution to those who cannot access a property on the free market.
