Canary Islands, third region of Spain with the most expensive rental prices in November

The price of rental housing has risen by 15.4% in the Canary Islands during the past month of November, placing it as the third region in Spain with the highest costs, based on data from the past month published by Fotocasa.

Following this scheme, the islands have an amount of 11.16 euros per square meter (m2), only surpassed by Madrid and Catalonia, with 15.36 euros and 14.69 euros respectively; and the Basque Country and the Balearic Islands, in both cases with 13.95 euros per m2 per month.

At the national level, the increase during the month of November has been 2.9%, while the year-on-year increase has risen to 5.9%, which means that the price per square meter stands at 10.79 euros.

 

Differences between the Canary Islands provinces

Among the two Canary Islands provinces, a 2% percentage variation has been recorded: the rental price has increased more in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, with 15.3%, with Santa Cruz de Tenerife being 13.3%.

Regarding the price per square meter per month, Las Palmas occupies a higher place, with an amount of 11.65 euros per m2 and in Santa Cruz de Tenerife it is slightly cheaper, with 10.38 euros.

Thus, in order, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria occupies the fifth position among the provincial capitals with the highest rental prices per square meter in Spain, and Santa Cruz de Tenerife, the seventh.
