The Department of Urban Planning of the Arrecife City Council, under the direction of Maciot Cabrera, has submitted to the Government Board this Wednesday the approval of urban planning licenses for the construction of 35 new homes, which represent a step forward in the urban and social development of the city.
In addition, the approved projects include initiatives that will not only strengthen Arrecife's housing supply, but also boost the commercial sector and contribute to the economic reactivation of the capital.
One of the projects is the extension of the license for the demolition of an existing building and the construction of a new seven-story building with a basement on Avenida Dr. Rafael González. This building will house 21 homes and a commercial space.
Another license submitted for approval is for the construction of a two-story building, which includes two homes, on Calderón de la Barca Street.
Likewise, the Department of Urban Planning has promoted the approval of the construction of a three-story building and attic on Galicia Street, which will have 12 homes and a garage with capacity for 10 parking spaces.
These new licenses are in addition to those already authorized throughout the year, reaching a total of 166 homes in 2024.
Maciot Cabrera has emphasized "the importance of these initiatives, not only for their impact on the improvement of the housing supply, but also for their contribution to local employment" and has pointed out that "each of these licenses represents an opportunity for the families of Arrecife, whether in the form of a new home or a job in the construction sector."
The capital's head of Urban Planning has also recalled that "we continue working to expedite the procedures in the Technical Office and reduce the deadlines for granting licenses, in order to favor the construction of homes that are so necessary in our city."
