The Lanzarote Business Confederation (CEL) has described the Canary Islands Dual Vocational Training Strategy approved by the regional government as a "great step to consolidate employment in the Islands." This was highlighted by its president, Francisco Martínez, after the Canary Islands became the first Autonomous Community in Spain to have a document that develops the Organic Law on the Organization and Integration of Vocational Training.
The president pointed out that, "on the road to consolidating the good trend in employment data in recent months, this tool will improve the qualification of people, increase their chances of obtaining employment and increase competitiveness within companies, providing employers with higher quality personnel and, therefore, better services to offer."
"We recently pointed out that training and subsidies for the growth of small and medium-sized companies are two very important factors to stabilize the good employment data and, in that sense, this strategy promotes teaching and learning processes in a system of alternation between the training center and the companies," Martínez highlighted.
The signed document "intends to qualify the young population, with the aim of facilitating their professional integration to maintain the downward trend in unemployment among people under 25 years of age, a decrease of 12% in May compared to the month of April after five months of validity of the labor reform."
