The Cabildo of Lanzarote has allocated for this employment plan something "more than 12.5 million euros", financed by the FDCAN funds, through the area of Planning and Projects, with the main objective of "cleaning, maintenance and beautification" of the island in the period 2023-2025.

Oswaldo Betancort has welcomed these workers, who started their tasks on September 1, and highlighted that this investment "allows us to take care of the image of the coast, the middle and upper areas of the island" and, in short, "improve the aesthetics of Lanzarote and La Graciosa".

"The important thing is to meet the objective of lowering the unemployment rate in Lanzarote and try to strengthen and promote an island that is a Biosphere Reserve," said Betancort.

Jacobo Medina also thanked "the work of the technicians of the two councils, Planning and Employment, who have worked in a coordinated manner for the elaboration of this new plan".

Medina remarked the satisfaction that means "to see the faces of illusion of these people for getting a job, but also for the responsibility they have to keep our island in a perfect state of conservation".
