The Cabildo of Lanzarote, through the Employment area coordinated by Jorge Peñas, will launch a free training course to obtain the D+CAP driving license, which will enable 15 unemployed people to become bus drivers, it reports.
"This is an initiative that will serve to promote job placement and provide an opportunity for professional development in the passenger transport sector", says Peñas, who encourages all those unemployed people interested in continuing their training and who meet the requirements to benefit from this project "to take the step towards a new path in their professional career".
As explained by the councilor, the Cabildo will assume the expenses related to obtaining the driving permit, with the exception of the fees corresponding to the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT), the medical examination and the issuance of the CAP card.
The requirements to access this training include "being registered in Lanzarote for at least one year, being between 19 and 55 years old on the start date of the application period, having a type B driving license with at least one year of driving experience and eight points, not having Vocational Training or University Degree studies, and not being involved in legal proceedings or crimes related to Road Safety", adds the councilor.
The deadline to submit applications will be open until June 1, although it will be extended if there are still places available. The only documents required to complete the registration are a photocopy of the National Identity Document (DNI) or Foreigner Identification Number (NIE) and a DARDE document that proves the unemployment situation, it includes.
The selected people must pass a previous selection interview, which will be carried out by Cabildo staff and representatives of the collaborating companies, he affirms.
Once selected as beneficiaries, they must submit all the required documentation, the registration certificate, the driver/a data report from the General Directorate of Traffic (DGT) and the points certificate, as well as an updated labor and administrative situation report obtained through the website of the Canarian Employment Service.
"Once the complete program has been carried out and the beneficiaries obtain their D + CAP license, there will be possibilities of job placement in some of the island's companies through agreements signed by the institution", concludes Jorge Peñas, the Employment councilor.
