The project of the Employment Area of the Cabildo de Lanzarote Taking Care of Lanzarote and La Graciosa continues its multiple cleaning and environmental conservation interventions through the eight lots that, with an investment of just over 12.5 million euros, and financed by the FDCAN funds, deploys its works with a staff of 158 workers, who thanks to this plan to support employability have left the unemployment lists.

This morning, the Councilor for Employment of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Ascensión Toledo Hernández, accompanied by the first Deputy Mayor of the Arrecife City Council, Echedey Eugenio, and the local Councilor for Cleaning, Jacobo Lemes, visited this Tuesday the restoration and conditioning tasks of public spaces carried out in the Tenorio neighborhood by the members of one of the squads.

"We are cleaning the island, from north to south, in a commendable effort that seeks to make our landscape perfect," explained Ascensión Toledo. "The difficulty we sometimes encounter," continues the councilor, "is that some uncivil behaviors are repeated, causing some areas to be in the same condition a few weeks later; and therefore we appeal to citizens because it is everyone's job to contribute so that this huge work we do remains in time."

For his part, Councilor Jacobo Lemes thanked the Cabildo de Lanzarote "for the important work it does with employment plans. Today we have them in the Tenorio neighborhood, and soon they will also be in other plots and spaces in the city."

The Island Institution, chaired by Oswaldo Betancort, is achieving with this 2023-2026 planning to reinforce the cleaning, maintenance and beautification works of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, "achieving, also, the labor integration of people who are demonstrating their dedication and professionalism in the tasks they perform daily for the citizens," concluded the Councilor for Employment, Ascensión Toledo.
