The Department of Employment of the Government of the Canary Islands, through the Canary Islands Employment Service (SCE), resolved the granting of subsidies for nearly 13,350,000 euros for the development of training plans, with priority for employed people. It is estimated that it could benefit 38,242 workers in the archipelago.

Funded with funds from the Ministries of Education and Vocational Training and Labor and Social Economy, the grants awarded distributed five million euros for the execution of actions from the SEPE catalog of specialties leading to professional certificates and 8.3 million for activities on the state list but without qualification.

In addition to cross-cutting training plans for more than 20,000 workers, the recent resolution also covers others specific to hospitality and tourism; commerce; industry; metal; construction; transport; health and social services; agriculture, livestock and fishing; and business services.

The current call was processed under a competitive competition regime among vocational training centers and entities with accreditation and registration in the various specialties by the regional body or the State Public Employment Service (SEPE), with a budget increase of over one million euros compared to the previous edition.
