Canarian Market, the official online sales channel for agri-food products from the islands, includes products from Lanzarote such as salt from Salinas de Janubio, wines from the El Grifo winery, Lala jams, Primo de Lanzarote vermouths, among others.
The official online sales platform, promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture of the Government of the Canary Islands, reached the figure of 1,000 Canarian products sold in countries such as Germany, France and Denmark last October. Gofio and wine are the most requested products.
Canarian Market has more than 400 references and its products are in stock in a logistics base located in Madrid. Its products include gofio, mojos, wines, almogrote and cosmetic products. More than 60 producers from the archipelago participate.
This official Canary Islands online sales channel offers service to both professionals and individuals, with an average delivery time of 24 and 48 hours for the peninsula, and up to 72 hours for the rest of Europe.
Canarian Market is an e-commerce with a marketing method that includes advantages for both businesses and individuals, as it takes care of essential aspects such as technological development and support; customs procedures for export; customer service and returns; and transport and logistics management to the final customer.
The regional head of the area, Alicia Vanoostende, stressed that "from the Government of the Canary Islands we are aware of the difficulties of the sector, from production to marketing, so one of our main bets is to value the local product. It is essential that marketing channels with short chains are established, as is the case of Canarian Market, which allows us to reach all homes in Europe from the Canary Islands, without intermediaries."
Finally, she pointed out that "with the imminent arrival of Christmas, gift packs with Canarian products are a great option to give to people who spend these dates outside the islands."
