Summer has led to a small decrease in the number of unemployed in Lanzarote. In August, unemployment fell again on the island, although only by 88 people, according to data published this Tuesday by the Government of the Canary Islands.
At the moment, the island has 17,729 unemployed. This is the third consecutive drop in unemployment figures, although very slight considering that it has occurred in the middle of the summer season.
Thus, in July there were a total of 17,817 unemployed in Lanzarote, while in June the figure was 17,870. In May, the number of unemployed amounted to more than 18,000, specifically 18,152.
In the Canary Islands, the unemployment rate has also decreased, in this case, by 0.39 percent, the second largest decrease at the national level. In the Archipelago there are a total of 288,666 people without work.
