Turismo Lanzarote wants to "show the riches and opportunities that the destination offers to the agents of the sector" and, for that reason, in recent days its promoters and technicians have toured various fairs and events throughout the European geography.

The first of these was F.R.E.E. Munich. "The recovery of the German market is underlined in red on the work agenda of the Lanzarote delegation, which will travel to the German capital next week to attend the ITB", they point out. The strategy that is being developed in that country, they point out, is accompanied by an intensification of promotional action with the aim of boosting a market that, even despite growing by 19.05% during the past month of January on the island, "continues to present significant fluctuations".

The promoter of Turismo Lanzarote in Germany traveled last week to Munich, the capital of Bavaria, to attend this general fair dedicated to the leisure and travel sectors, in which 1,200 exhibitors from 60 countries took part. With Spain being the sponsoring country, and under the umbrella of Promotur, it presented the island's tourist proposal "based on its landscapes, its beaches, its gastronomy and the Network of Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of the Cabildo de Lanzarote".

The islands' stand "benefited from the greater space provided by being a sponsoring country to be visited by a large number of people who were very interested in knowing its peculiarities, especially those of Lanzarote", they point out from Turismo Lanzarote. This circumstance, they emphasize, "led to the exhaustion of the promotional material transferred to the city of Munich".

F.RE.E. is the tourist fair with the highest influx of non-professional visitors of all those held in southern Germany, as it was attended by some 118,000 people, 5,000 more than in the previous year, and a must-visit point for those who are looking for ideas and information to organize a trip. Due to their high purchasing power, Bavarians make about 10 million vacation trips a year. There are also good connections from Guacimeta airport to southern Germany, so "it is essential" that potential tourists know the characteristics of the island.

Turismo Lanzarote, also in Denmark

The Turismo Lanzarote team also made an appearance at Ferie for Alle, held in the Danish town of Herning between February 20 and 22, as part of the strategic action aimed at positioning the Lanzarote brand in the powerful Scandinavian markets.

In this edition, the fair had 5 major thematic axes: Active outdoor holidays for the adventurer, Golf, Caravanning, Riches of Denmark, and Holidays abroad, in which Lanzarote, also under the umbrella of Promotur, presented its tourist offer based on its landscapes, climate and gastronomic proposal, mainly. "It was basically about promoting the characteristics that make Lanzarote a unique holiday destination in a strategic market with great purchasing power," they point out from Turismo Lanzarote.

Ferie for Alle is the largest holiday tourism fair in the Nordic countries. In this edition, it managed to bring together more than 1,000 exhibitors and almost 63,000 people. 75% of visitors are interested in destinations in southern Europe and go on vacation an average of twice a year. On the other hand, the airport closest to Herning is Billund, from where approximately 37% of passengers leave for the Canary Islands.

The main motivations of the Danes when traveling are good weather, monuments and museums, getting to know different cultures and learning the language. These are tourists between 45 and 64 years old who preferably request sun and beach and travel by plane

Turismo Lanzarote has "great expectations in the Scandinavian markets, despite the current depreciation of their currencies against the euro".

NAVARTUR, Pamplona

Turismo Lanzarote also had a presence in the national territory. In this case, in Pamplona, where a representative of the area traveled to show the island's tourist and holiday proposal at Navartur, the "most important" general fair in northern Spain, they emphasize. As a novelty, this year the presence of travel agency counters stood out, with their own space, in which they could directly sell their trips to the public. The technician who traveled was able to verify the sale of several vacation packages heading to the island.

In addition, Turismo Lanzarote organized a 'selfies' contest that had as a prize, among others, a stay at the Hesperia Playa Dorada hotel, in Playa Blanca.

Navartur, which celebrated its X edition at the Baluarte Congress Palace in the capital of Pamplona, has become an interesting meeting point between professionals in the sector, "thanks to its intense agenda of events aimed at promoting networking and commercial relations between tourism professionals", they emphasize from Turismo Lanzarote.

The 2014 edition of Navartur was attended by 25,378 people, 129 exhibitors and 16 countries.

The president of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, Pedro San Ginés, has pointed out for his part that "these actions reflect the great promotional dynamism of the Turismo Lanzarote team that, far from falling into complacency with the good figures that are being recorded, works to maintain them and increase them, if possible, in the future".
