The Ministry of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda has awarded the contract for the management during the next two years of the service of the maritime line of public interest between the Peninsula and the Canary Islands to the Trasmediterránea S.A. Company.

The contract, with an amount of 4.2 million euros, establishes a frequency of one weekly rotation, every Tuesday, on a round trip itinerary from Cádiz to the ports of Arrecife (Lanzarote), Puerto del Rosario (Fuerteventura), Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Santa Cruz de La Palma.

The ro-pax ship (for vehicles and passengers) "Ciudad de Valencia" will be in charge of carrying out the service.

The contract will be signed in the month of June and is valid for two years, extendable for up to another two years.

The award to this shipping company has been made because it is the offer with the best value for money for the interests of the administration, as reported by the Ministry of Transport in a statement.
