The collection period for the Real Estate Tax (IBI) ends in the municipality of Teguise on November 7, just two months after its opening. In this financial year, a total of 16,949 owners are called to pay the municipal tax, adding up to almost eight and a half million euros in total.
"We know that we will collect more or less 70 percent of the receipts in the two periods, executive and voluntary", declared the head of the Treasury Area, Isabel Martín Tenorio.
The councilor also warns about the convenience of not delaying the payment: "The law establishes that when the executive period begins, not the voluntary one, the receipt will increase by 20 percent, a more than significant amount so that the neighbors do not get distracted with the IBI".
The City Council reminds taxpayers that the collection of this tax is carried out from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., at the Collection Office located in the town hall itself, or through direct debit of receipts.
It is necessary to remember that after the cadastral review applied in 2006 by the Regional Cadastre Management, some taxable bases of assets in the municipality suffer annual percentage increases, due to the existence of a difference between the previous taxable bases and those established after the presentation. These percentage increases will continue until they reach the values marked in that review.
