Terminal 2 of the César Manrique-Lanzarote Airport increased its island passenger traffic by 85% in January of this year compared to 2021, with a total of 62,439 people passing through the terminal at the beginning of the year to travel to the other islands. These numbers reflect how activity is gradually recovering after the Covid pandemic.

More than half of the people who took a plane in Lanzarote to make an inter-island flight during January 2022 chose to go to Gran Canaria, whether for study, work, health or other reasons. This journey was made by 41,649 passengers out of the total number of people who moved from Lanzarote to the other islands in this period. However, it is the journey that shows the smallest increase in relation to 2021, although its growth was 68.1%, according to the Lanzarote Data Center.

The second most frequent route is the one to the other capital island, Tenerife, which was taken by 20,412 passengers last month. The number of people who have made this journey has also increased in comparison with 2021, when it only received 8,910 people.

In the first month of the year, there were 378 passengers who flew to Fuerteventura.
